Dawn to Dusk
February 18, 2015
Wow! From hues of blue to the pink water a tremendous show. And I love pink water * anywhere * any body of water. There are far more dramatic pics of tonight's sunset - layers of fuschia frosting over the dark blue water... l a y e r s. I'm good with the gentle pink for the moment.

I received time from a new friend tonight. And flowers! And a book! Time, the commodity we seem to have very little to share. Mille Grazie!

In Stephen King's Dark Tower series Roland, our hero, tells a fellow travel as they part after a day or two of palaver [life stories, chat] "We're well met." That phrase is like a fabulous steak and baked potato dinner for me, it sticks, it satisfies. In my travels I have been fortunate to find a person or two to share food, coffee and a bit of life. A person where there's an instant of simpatico..

Here it has been Tammy. She's unique, true and a good soul. In New Mexico * Leslie.
In Ravella * Teresa.

Of course I meet many good people and share stories and coffee with a few of them, but there are a few that you know, no matter what year in life you meet again, you'll be able to pick up where you left off.

Today I painted for a few hours. I was looking over my work and grinning - a Cheshire Cat grin, a bit sarcastic. My work is whimsical and childlike. No art classes ever so I'm a newbie and any technique is an accident. Mixing color is my favorite and playing with texture. Safe canvases only... 4 x 4, 5 x 5, 4 x 6 and a few 4 x 10 and 4 x 12... Hoping to plant a few in at least one art/craft store here and maybe the seed of that fun will give someone a smile. Child's first original art purchase is what I'm visualizing, but I won't limit the inclination of someone else.

Oh - listen to Beck's Album that won the Grammy. I totally, absolutely forgot to buy it when the vinyl came off the press and was thrilled to see it scroll when I visited ITunes to locate this Zaplife app. Yes, downloaded it immediately. Yes, love it like SEA CHANGE, not as much yet, SEA CHANGE is CRAZY BRILLIANT and not enough personal history to connect with it.

MORNING PHASE will be the soundtrack of my stay here on the beach. Appropos as I've rushed from sleep to the sea each morning, except when I had company, to walk the beach, photograph, see, smell, shell, and be thankful for the opportunity to do all of it.

I've a website to edit, update, bring to life. Maybe tomorrow. THINGSTHATAREREAL.COM. Eventually it may reflect my career path. Currently, it reflects the initial stages of a career path. Plus, it's incomplete.

Fits and starts. But that's another blog.
