Buddhist Peace Lanterns
January 24, 2012
Unfortunately my camera phone couldn't really cope with the light (or lack thereof) Apologies for the poor picture quality.
Every year, on the 9th August, the Japanese Buddhist temple in Vienna's 2nd district have a ceremony to commemorate the victims of Nagasaki and Hiroshima and to promote nuclear disarmament. The day ends with decorated lanterns being set on the inlet near the pagoda
(don't worry, the monk wades in and fishes them out again the next morning or later that night ;) )
