2011 Interlaken/Lauterbrunen, Switzerland Travelog
December 6, 2011
After Paris, we came to Switzerland. The first two days, we stayed in Lauterbrunnen, a small village just below Jungfrau. When I mean small, it only has 1 road and 1 supermarket.
Day 1 is pretty much just on the train. We travel from Paris -> Geneva -> Bern -> Speiz -> Interlaken OST -> Lauterbrunnen. What a long train ride! However, we were entertained by the beautiful scenery along the way. We stayed in Valley Hostel and greeted by good host. We get ourselves private bedroom so it is more or less like a hotel without service.
Day 2. After checking the weather forecast, it shows nice weather and there we go towards Jungfrau. The highest peak in Europe on the Andes. The view is spectacular and blown me away. Definitely nicer than captured by camera. The train slowly climb towards the top on toothed railroad. At the top of Jungfrau, it is very cold especially when the wind blows.
Day 3, we went to Interlaken which means between two lakes. We took the scenic train along golden pass. We enjoy the scenery along the way. I like the greens as being in the city most of the time, greens is what I longed for.
