Climbing to the top of Mt Yasur around dusk to experience the noise, the eruptions, the size, volume and speed of the ash and lava being hurled into the air is probably the most awesome thing I've ever experienced ..
This is the crater rim...
These ash clouds are hundreds of metres long
kerboomph! So glad the wind didn't change direction, or I'd have been in serious strife.
The chunks of lava were the size of small cars.
