We spent a good part of the morning and early afternoon in a quest for a small ceramic bird that Barbara had bought in one of her trips to Santiago about 30 years ago. We never found anything similar but saw other parts of Santiago - Santa Lucia, Barrio Lastarria. Saw beautiful churches, stumbled upon lovely street art and crafts, and enjoyed our newly adopted Chilean custom - Onzes (tea/food snackes) in the late afternoon. We can easily get accustomed to this lifestyle. Next: tonight we will try to take the funicular to the top of Cerro San Cristobal for a hopefully spectacular view of the city and the sunset.
