Italian Cloister Garden
March 28, 2012
A monument to victims of the Arandora Star tragedy has been installed at the Italian Cloister Garden, next to St Andrew’s Cathedral in Glasgow. Nearly 500 of the 805 who perished in the disaster were Italians. Around 100 Scots-Italians died during the voyage, from Liverpool to St. John's in Newfoundland, Canada, and their names have been inscribed on a marble plaque inside the garden.
