McGee's pub is just south of central park and just up the street from the CBS writers studio. It was frequented by the writers of How I Met Your Mother and became the inspiration for McLaren's in the show. The people who run the place swore up and down that it was the inspiration for the whole show but somehow I find that to be a little bit of a stretch. No "Lady Killer Ale" or "Famous Alexander's" on tap like the fake brews in the show, but they did have Yengling on tap. The wings and chicken tenders were amazing while the homous was not so good. There were pictures of HIMYM cast hanging out at the real McGee's and it was pretty cool. They also had signs saying that they have viewing parties of new episodes of the shows Monday nights and HIMYM trivia on select Tuesday's. It's alright we would have embarrassed everyone else anyways.
