Upon My Return

Show me the painless path to growth and I will show you an unopened cocoon.
Writing this morning to a dear, amazing human who is my friend, I explained that it's impossible for me to rush all the healing. As with skin recovering from a deep sunburn, one must allow the skin to dry, to become brown and ugly and become ready to peel away. If rushed, one peels fresh, new skin, creating a scar. I've all the scar tissue necessary for a bit.
My mother's death was precipitated by adhesions, internal scar tissue that strangled her from the inside. I'm a quick study, I do not wish for the same fate. So, I slow play and allow myself space and time for healing.
On the morning of my birthday, a pod of dolphins participated in 20+ minutes of 'fishing'. Brilliant to watch: circling, diving into the circle to scatter the fish on which they fed. A communal happening in the bright morning light of 11 February 2015. I was privileged to share this dolphin dining experience with my friend of five years, who has been a part of many self discoveries.

A task of the rest of my journey is to let go of all fear, as one releases helium filled balloons, as much as is possible in a single human lifetime.
