A note from my talented teacher in Santa Fe was welcome and comforting. She's just returned from a photo shoot abroad and now the hard work begins. She mentions that the selection and editing is the difficult aspect of the photography journey. I am so relieved. Avoidance has been my habit. And it's really not the selection or the editing, it's the frustrations of a laptop freeze while I'm in the flow. But, I'm renewed in the knowledge that a brilliant professional sees this as the challenge of of the art form.

530 AM on this gorgeous beach today. Layered up as it was 30 degrees, but having the whole beach! My goal was to run into a woman I'd met weeks early and had exchanged "hi" with regularly. A shiny spirit and her loving companion has cheered me as I've missed Scout and Jem (my late gentle goldies) each day that I've been on the beach. They'd have bounced about the beach with such glee...well, Jem would have. Scout would have maintained her nonchalant demeanor.

We did meet and walk together. I learned that one of the couples I met with the devil ray were her "family". That's a tale for another day.

As I'm distracted by hunger. I'm closing out and moving on to Cowgirl Kitchen in Rosemary Beach for coffee and breakfast.
