Naweek Project 6 > Merapi's effect #2
January 10, 2011
The great eruptions of Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta began more than 2 month ago. The month-long eruptions have killed more than 200 people, displaced over 100,000 residents, killed over 1,000 livestock and destroyed over 1,000 hectares of productive farming fields.

Now the people is trying to built their lives again in base of their local wisdom. This local wisdom is trusted by Merapi society as a ritual that keep them so far, and give thanks to them, because a lot of them depend on Merapi. Such as fertile soil, sand for the mining and tourism

these photo was taken at Kinahrejo Village on Merapi's slope
