Rincon de la Vieja is a volcano which is still active. It is situated in the north of Costa Rica. Along the slopes of the volcano are dense rain forests, open savana areas, boiling mud pools, steam geisers as well as large waterfalls. It is not easy to see animals or birds, but we were lucky.
