The Steller's Sea Eagle, Haliaeetus pelagicus, is a large bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. It lives in coastal northeastern Asia and mainly preys on fish. On average, it is the heaviest eagle in the world, at about 5 to 9 kilograms (11 to 20 lb; 0.79 to 1.4 st). This bird is named after the German naturalist Georg Wilhelm Steller.
The Eagle Has Landed
Nature can produce really interesting patterns - ice generally the best sculptor! In this winter scene near the frozen Schluchsee in the Black Forest Germany the ice "hugs" around tree trunks and rocks. They really look like ones which were just hatched from eggs.

Waiting for Spring
This shot was take at the Schluhsee lake - the lake itself was frozen, and around the lake the ice were in great slabs everywhere.
Ice Age
Layers
On and around the lake, lots happening - ice quickly melts in funny patterns, slow "painting" by moss goes ahead relentlessly, animals need to feed and drink. All these things happen in different places and timescales but they are around us to notice. This is my attempt...
