Celebrating the arrival of our sweet little girl one month ago.
Summer 2014. Locations and activities included general surf nostalgia at home in West Wittering, drowning in a lavender field in Chichester and walking around ancient yew trees and burial mounds at Kingley Vale (UK). Other places include various parts of Gotland, Sweden and the gorgeous Pacific Northwest.
A few scenes from a recent West Coast trip to San Diego county and the gorgeous Seattle. Activities included a Bing factory and shop visit, copious taco and guacamole consumption, pelican gazing, Acai bowl addiction, midnight grunion spotting, Space Needling, Hendrix worshipping and surfing till we could not surf anymore.
Collection of pictures from this winter, the usual stuff: animals, ocean, food, fossilized shark teeth, Star Wars figures, her Majesty....?!
A random selection of pictures representing my summer. Locations include Gotland, West Sussex, Boston, Narragansett, Ontario.
Visit to the very small Bergman Museum on Fårö and to a beach near Hammars (Bergman's estate, where he filmed 'Persona'). A highlight for me was an installation of four screens simultaneously showing a selection of clips from his films illustrating the many recurring themes within them. Also enjoyed seeing the paper theatre that Alexander plays with in 'Fanny and Alexander' and the infamous wallpaper in 'Through a Glass Darkly.' Near Hammars, there was sign left by one of the many artists who have come over the years as part of a residency program at the estate.
First time in Paris. I was there for almost two days. This is what I noticed.
Every year, the school where I teach takes it's oldest students down south to visit the places that were pivotal in the Civil Rights Movement. They always need more adults from the community, so this year, one of those adults was me. It was an incredibly moving trip, especially as I got to be in the company of a group of incredibly intelligent and thoughtful children.
