The building that I park my car in was built about 1850. Still unmodernized, I drive up a wooden ramp. These hooks are mortared between the brick about six feet up the wall in the alley outside. They were originally used to to hitch your horse. Being across from City Hall, occasionally you see a police horse tied to one. Nothing really changes, does it?
