Shooting self-portraits using DSLR cameras is not easy especially with this shot. Focus had to be on the face and not on the instrument which is nearer the lens. It took me 3 takes to get this near perfect (according to my standards). Using a Nikon remote control shutter on my D90, the full body shot has an unresolved issue. The frame went beyond the black backdrop (on the lower left side) because the auto focus was on which affected the zooming of the lens from the subject. Nevertheless, I am publishing such photo as it is without cropping as it violates some of my personal rules in digital editing.
